Competitions and Training

Tanja Schildt-Snyers is a Music Pedagogue with a Master of Arts degree. She graduated from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, Austria majoring in solo classical guitar instructed by Professor Brigitte Zaczek.

Before moving to Vienna, Ms. Schildt-Snyers got a degree in music pedagogy at Helsingin Konservatoriossa as a student of Juan Antonio Muro, receiving excellent marks on her teaching skills.

Several international guitar master classes have deepened Ms. Schildt-Snyers’s training and expanded her views on the internationality of music and professional possibilities offered by it. Ms. Schildt-Snyers has been a student ofinternationally renowned guitarists such as José Luis Lopategui in Spain, David Russell in Finland, Alvaro Pierri, Hopkinson Smith, Roland Dyens, Carlo Domeniconi, Jozef Zsapka, Thomas Müller-Pering and Dieter Kreidler in Austria, and Pavel Steidel in the Czech Republic.

In addition to the master classes, Ms. Schildt-Snyers has attended several music workshops both in Finland and abroad.

Ms. Schildt-Snyers has won prizes in several international guitar competitions: she came second in the major guitar competition held in Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic, as well as in the Johann Kaspar Mertz Competition held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
