Tanja Schildt-Snyers

Tanja Schildt-Snyers, born in Kotka, Finland, is a Music Pedagogue with a Master of Arts in guitar performance. She graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien), instructed by Professor Brigitte Zaczek. Before moving to Vienna, she got a degree in music pedagogy at The Helsinki Conservatory as a student of Juan Antonio Muro, receiving excellent marks on her teaching skills.

As a performing artist, Ms. Schildt-Snyers has given numerous concerts both in Finland and in other countries. She has also had excellent success in international guitar competitions. In addition to solo concerts and competitions, Ms. Schildt-Snyers has performed in various chamber music ensembles and made recordings for the radio.

She functions as director and guitar teacher at the music school she founded in Vienna in 2009: Music School Tanja Schildt.

Ms. Schildt-Snyers was also the driving force when the Vienna Classical Guitar Society was founded in 2011. She is one of the founding members and the chair of the Society.

In 2013 she started a guitar orchestra for children Vienna Kids Guitar Orchestra. At the moment the members of this very popular orchestra are 5 to 11 years of age.

In addition to these activities, Ms. Schildt-Snyers teaches Master Classes and gives lectures.
